Vision
If you’re reading this, chances are you already feel drawn to the piano — whether to begin your journey or to refine your skills. Today, most piano lessons you find online are one-size-fits-all apps and courses, promising shortcuts, speed, and “easy” learning. But music isn’t about quick fixes — it’s about depth, growth, and discovery.
Too often, music is presented as a product for consumption — boxed into genres, lifestyles, or trends. This has influenced even music education, pushing institutions and teachers toward surface-level methods that miss the profound nature of this art form.
I believe that music is a multidimensional practice that everyone can explore with proper guidance. Time at the piano is more than practice — it is self-reflection, meditation, and connection to our shared humanity. Every note becomes an act of communication.
The joy of learning a piece — whether centuries old, contemporary, or your own composition — lies in sharing it. When we play, we fill our spaces with beauty and invite those around us to listen, to pause, and to be transported.
This is the vision of the Alessandria Piano Studio: a place where learning piano is not only about technique, but about cultivating creativity, awareness, and expression — where music becomes a lifelong companion, not a product to consume.
Mission & Approach
My mission at the Piano Studio has grown out of years of musical training and professional experience in Florence and abroad, both as a concert pianist and as an educator. These experiences have given me precious insights that shaped the foundations of the work I am proud to do today.
My mission is to help you...
-
Make friends with time — learning patience and presence through music
-
Check in and stay on track — cultivating consistency in your practice
-
Express yourself — discovering your unique musical voice
-
Communicate musically — sharing your artistry with others
-
Make connections — building bridges between music, self, and community
All of this takes place through a patient and caring approach, in a safe and relaxing space where learning becomes not just a skill, but a journey of growth and discovery.
A holistic approach is essential in piano education. At the center of this journey is the student: before guiding them with suggestions or exercises, it’s crucial to understand their individual challenges, needs, and aspirations. True achievement comes from embracing long-term goals, so I emphasize helping students cultivate patience, enjoy the learning process, and develop a love for every aspect of music—from reading notes to performing and interpreting pieces with joy.
My teaching philosophy is built on three pillars of music education: practice, theory & solfège, and performance.
-
Practice: A structured practical study provides the technical exercises and repertoire needed to build a solid foundation. Students learn not only the music they love but also pieces that broaden their horizons and encourage them to step outside their comfort zones.
-
Theory & Solfège: Understanding the language of music makes approaching new scores more intuitive and meaningful.
-
Performance: Regular performance practice, even for non-professional pianists, consolidates learning, builds confidence, and offers the invaluable experience of sharing music with an audience.
This personalized, comprehensive approach allows students to see their progress on multiple levels, fostering confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Over the past few years, I’ve prioritized creating a community-oriented environment, where students interact not only in theory classes but also in monthly group masterclasses, piano duos, and chamber music ensembles. This communal atmosphere encourages peer support, idea exchange, and refinement of musical and pianistic skills.
My own journey into self-awareness and personal growth through Ayurveda, psychosynthesis, and yoga philosophy at the Ayurveda International Academy has deeply influenced my teaching. Inspired by these studies, we integrate weekly meditation sessions to enhance self-awareness and focus during lessons, practice, performances, and exams. These sessions incorporate guided body scans, breathing techniques, and nada yoga exercises, giving students tools to center themselves both on and off the piano bench.
Ultimately, this approach has one clear goal: to help students learn to play the piano and connect with the music they truly love, all within a nurturing, safe, and inspiring environment.
